Ingredients:

– 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

– 4 tbsp unsalted butter

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth

– 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

– 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

– 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste

– 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

– Lemon wedges, for serving

 

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Shrimp:

– In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

– Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, but do not let it brown.

  1. Add the Shrimp:

– Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

– Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

  1. Prepare the Sauce:

– Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and fresh lemon juice.

– Let the mixture simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  1. Add the Finishing Touches:

– Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the shrimp and stir until the cheese melts into the sauce.

– Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.

  1. Serve:

– Transfer the shrimp scampi to a serving dish.
